You can find more information about the way that I use video in art therapy by downloading a pdf that I will send in my next communication. Art therapy is a form of psychotherapy that utilizes art and artmaking instead of talk only therapy. Art therapy is particularly effective in treating grief, loss and trauma issues. I teach graduate level Multicultural Art Therapy at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan. I wrote a wonderful plan to bring some art therapy students with me to New Orleans last summer to help locals make Video Tributes to themselves, their families and/or their communities. After a lot of work thinking the project through, I did not get the support of the school to do the work. The idea is still with me but it needs thhe support of other organizations. FilmAid is down there doing some great work, as is a local art therapist.

Anyway, I will send along the pdf that was written about a group that I conducted for women living with the HIV/AIDS virus, at Housing Works.
