Peer Influence/involvement in regards to trauma

I am a certified peer specialist and about to graduate with a degree in psychology. trying to convince the county to hire me (paid or not) to consult on the new TIC requirements. Since I'm a peer specialist, have formal education and a trauma history I feel I'm uniquely qualified. If there are any suggestions anyone has on how to get this to happen I would greatly appreciate it. Our county is already into the consumer movement so that shouldn't be a problem. But advice would be appreciated. Thanks
